Dean Moriarty – After reading Jack Kerouac’s book ‘On the Road’, I thought this song created the same feeling of chaos.  This is the most challenging guitar piece I wrote, as it required me doing both open tuning and a lot of interesting left-hand fingering.  I only resemble the amazing work of Michael Hedges and others that really demonstrate talent in this approach.

Liberty Lunch   Named after the old music venue in downtown Austin.  Similar to ‘Dean Moriarty’, this relied on open tuning of the guitar and many different ways to ‘pull’ harmonics from the guitar

Water’s Voice – Written by Joe Cleveland.   I have always loved this song because of how George Mauer could bring together musicians and create unique, valued music.   George is what made many in the ‘Pine Curtain’ love music.

The Sag – This was my first acoustic, instrumental piece, written about a lake in Minnesota
